My name is Britt and I am a portrait photographer, in the Metro New Orleans area, specializing in women’s portraits.
With my photography, I combine beauty, fashion and fine art portraiture to create glamorous portraits for everyday women. I want to remind women how beautiful they are with my “Beauty Portrait” sessions that include being pampered by a hair and make up artist and guided posing throughout the shoot.
Dressed in Gold
Now, to introduce you to my actress/model friend, Ashton. She is currently studying theatre at my alma mater, the University of New Orleans. You can probably catch her in a play any weekend, at the Allways Lounge, Shadowbox Theatre or another venue. She’s a busy girl with a big goal. Currently, she is in a play called “Shivaree” tonight and tomorrow night at 9:00p and Sunday at 3:00pm at the Shadowbox Theatre in New Orleans, LA.
We’ve worked together so many times that I’ve lost count and we always get some awesome shots, despite never planning anything out.
This shoot was close to coming to an end and we were both running very low on energy. But before we packed it in, I remembered I wanted to do a test shoot using gold leaf. I told Ashton about it and she was in! We use petroleum jelly and a paintbrush to apply the gold leaf to her neck and chest.
I love how it came out and I can’t wait to do it again in a gold themed shoot.
Kayla is a friend of my model buddy, Ashton (whom you will hear more about in the future). They pretty much grew up together and consider each other sisters. Kayla contacted me about doing a shoot as a going away present for her boyfriend. She’s going away to intern at Disney World for four months.
She also stated that ever since Ashton and I have been working together, she’s noticed how Ashton has become more confident and secure in herself. She wants that too. I can’t take credit for growing anyone’s confidence, but I do think having beautiful photos taken of yourself can help you see yourself in a different light. That’s part of what I hope to do with my Beauty Portrait sessions.
I hope I was able to help her see herself more positively. She loved her photos and I have some new favorites of my own from this shoot.
And she’s already mentioned doing another shoot, but with our friend Ashton. Time to brainstorm!
P.S. I LOVE her wavy, red hair and those freckles!
Thank you for visiting my website and blog. I know there isn’t much here yet, but I’m working on it.
With my photography blog, I hope to share with you the stories of my clients, my stories and my journey as I grow and learn as an artist and photographer.
What I want to do with my photography is create fashion and fine art inspired portraits for women. I want to pamper you and make you feel beautiful and special, because you are. Everything out there says we need to be so tall, so thin, have a certain complexion and certain hair. I need you to know that you are beautiful already, just as you are right now.
Take the time to love yourself today. Don’t wait until tomorrow, when you lose so many pounds, or when you do this or get that or some other day.
